Leaving only 20 minutes behind schedule, the Maguires tackled Operation MickeyEars at 8:25am. While they were excited to get on the road for the trip they'd been planning all year, they were dismayed to learn that they first had to drive through....Ohio. Fortun ately Mom packed bags and bags of things to do and Dad created a killer playlist. So far we have explored the Atlas to learn fun facts about Ohio. Charlie has learned that there are several worthwhile attractions in Ohio (Cedar Point, Wright Patterson AirForce Base and Lake Erie Island). The rest of us are not convinced. Molly has spent the morning planning how she will spend her Maguire Money. We fear she may blow it all at the first gas station.

Poor Patrick had to drive in horrible rain for the second half of the day.
We made it!! Kids were a little squirrly by the end, but they did a great job and we actually had a pretty good time. We are tucked into our campsite in Asheville, NC and will take on Sliding Rock and some hiking tomorrow.
